Circle-Sawn
Our lumber mill produces these cuts in birch, fir and tamarack (larch), but not all styles are appropriate for all wood types. Mill Standard Grade Wood Flooring
Mill Standard Grade wood flooring is one of the most popular flooring cut styles, producing a tangential grain with the least amount of waste. The resulting cathedral pattern is very attractive and the flooring is highly functional.
School House Quarter-Sawn Wood Flooring
We also offer unfinished quarter-sawn flooring, also called ‘schoolhouse’ cut. The planks tend to be narrow with a distinct grain pattern. Many homeowners and contractors prefer this cut for higher-end installations.
Circle-Sawn Wood Flooring
Another popular option is the more rustic circle-sawn wood flooring look. This cut style results in a beautiful texture that’s ideal for that vintage homesteader effect. Perfect for log cabin and timber frame homes, the grain character is enhanced by the circle-sawn texture and minimal maintenance is required.
